More history about George Jeffreys and some youtube videos to see.

To make known to the sons of men God's mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of His Kingdom." - Psalm 145:12

George Jeffreys (28 February 1889–26 January 1962) was a Welsh minister who founded the Elim Pentecostal Church, one of the first Pentecostal organisations.[1]

As a fifteen-year-old from NantyffylonMaestegWales, George became a Christian during the 1904-1905 Welsh Revival, along with his older brother Stephen. At the time, many local Christians believed the two brothers were appointed by God to do great works for Him.

In 1910, after becoming a very popular speaker in certain circles throughout the country, George went to the All Saints' Anglican Church in SunderlandEngland. There he saw people expressing the Gifts of the Spirit, particularly speaking in tongues as in Acts chapter 2 in the Bible. George was at first opposed to this, but when his nephew, Edward, claimed to have received Baptism of the Holy Spirit, and he noticed the change in his nephew, he repented of his unbelief in the All Saints' church, and subsequently, began to express such gifts himself.

In the many churches, conventions and camp meetings where George and Stephen Jeffreys preached in the years after this, there were reports of many miraculous healings and other acts of God. Such healings brought George to his "foursquare" belief that Jesus is Saviour, Healer, Baptiser and Coming King. George, along with a small group of peers, became known as the Elim Evangelistic Band in Belfast and all over Ulster. This group of people brought crowds into their large tent, and later, into the Belfast hall they acquired. Out of this, George founded his first church in Belfast in 1914 followed by one in Monaghan in 1915, and the Elim Foursquare Gospel Alliance, as it is officially known, was born.
Many more Elim churches were soon planted all over the United Kingdom, first of all spreading through the province of Ulster to BallymenaMoneyslane andPortadown, then on to Leigh-on-SeaEssex, The FIRST Elim Church in England, and Clapham in London and in Wales at Llanelli and Dowlais. In 1925, he founded the Elim Bible College in Clapham, which moved to NantwichCheshire, in 1987 and later became Regents Theological College. The college moved again in 2009 toWest Malvern.
George continued to lead the Elim Pentecostal Churches until 1939 when, due to differences in opinion on church leadership, he left Elim and went to Nottingham to found the Bible-Pattern Church Fellowship, The denomination suffered a serious decline in numbers in the later years of the 1960s and no longer exists as a separate entity, its main church, Kensington Temple, having become the central London church of the Elim Pentecostal Church.

In 1962 George anointed Reinhard Bonnke the evangelist for the ministry that Bonnke was about to begin in South Africa. Bonnke stumbled onto Jeffreys' home in Clapham while on vacation in London. The old evangelist invited Bonnke in for tea. Jeffreys prayed for the young 22 year old Bonnke, passing on his "mantle".[2] The next day Jeffreys died at his home in London. NEW LINK TO Pentecostal Rays by Principal George Jeffreys

Pentecostal Rays by Principal George Jeffreys

THIS IS A MUST READ FOR EVERY PENTECOSTAL CHRISTIAN. It has a question an answer section at the back.. Sadly there is much misunderstanding in the church today about this subject; there is also a misuse of the gifts in operation in the local church which is casing many to avoid this part of the believer’s life. I have no financial gain promoting these books, I only seek to convey the truth of God’s word and provide recourses to equip the family of God in the last days. This book is subtitled 'The Baptism and Gifts of the Holy Spirit.' It is an essential teaching for the church of every age!

Matt. 8:23–27; Mark 4:35–41
22 Now it happenedon a certain day, that He got into a boat with His disciples. And He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side of the lake.” And they launched out. 23 But as they sailed He fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy24 And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying“Master, Master, we are perishing!”
Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm25 But He said to them, “Where is your faith?”
And they were afraid, and marveledsaying to one another,

We believe in one God,
The Father, the Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth,
Of all that is seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
The only Son of God,
Eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
True God from true God,
Begotten, not made, one in Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
He came down from heaven:
By the power of the Holy Spirit
He was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
He suffered, died, and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
In fulfillment of the Scriptures;
He ascended into heaven
And is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
And his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
Who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead
And the life of the world to come. Amen.

INTRODUCING THE FOUR-SQUARE GOSPEL

Four-Square is a biblical term first mentioned in the book of Exodus and lastly in the book of Revelation. Each of the ten biblical references containing the word Four-Square, within the scriptural meaning, pertains to God’s redemptive pattern, His acceptance of those who believe in Christ, and their worship of Him (Exodus 27:1; 28:16; 30:2; 37:25; 38:1; 39:9; 1 King 7:31; Ezekiel 40:47; 48:20; and Revelation 21:16). Four-Square is an appropriate term to describe the four phases of the ministry of Jesus Christ: the Savior, Baptiser with the Holy Spirit, Healer, and Soon-Coming King.

Each facet of the Four-Square Gospel message is represented by an emblem. The cross represents Jesus as Savior. The dove represents Jesus as Baptiser with the Holy Spirit. The cup represents Jesus as the Healer. The crown represents Jesus as the Soon-coming King.

Jesus Christ, the Savior

Jesus Christ is the only hope of humanity. Jesus loved us and died to save us from the penalty of our sin and rebellion. The salvation He brings begins with a person’s decision to put faith in Him. That decision opens a lifetime of being healed, restored, delivered from oppression, and set free to stand in spiritual, emotional, and physical wholeness (Luke 4:18).

Jesus Christ, the Baptiser with the Holy Spirit

Some of Jesus’ last words to His disciples concerned empowerment. He charged them to carry on the good works He modeled for them. He promised that He would send the Holy Spirit to give them the power to spread the good news about Him. On the Day of Pentecost, in Acts 2, the disciples experienced the presence and power of God as they became witnesses of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ, the Healer

Jesus went about “doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38). Jesus draws us to Himself in love and then touches us with healing power. He perpetuates that healing power by promising that signs and wonders would follow His followers as they went out to minister (Mark 16:17-18).

Jesus Christ, The Soon-coming King

As Jesus ascended into Heaven, the angels declared that He would return to take His church to live with Him forever (Acts 1:10-11). This is the great hope of those who believe in Jesus as their Savior (John 14:1-3).

In many Four-Square churches, the Four-Square flag is prominently displayed. This also serves as a reminder of the Four-Square Gospel—the four phases of the ministry of Jesus Christ. In the upper left hand corner of the flag is a “4” paced in a square on a Bible. The flag has four large stripes. Across the bottom of the flag, like a solid foundation, is the red stripe, which represents Jesus as Savior by the color of His blood that was shed. Next is the gold stripe, which signifies the fire of the Holy Spirit. The blue stripe represents divine healing, which was the color of the High Priest’s garment in the Old Testament. The top stripe is purple, which represents the royalty of Jesus, our Soon-Coming King.

The Four-Square Gospel is by no means a new or modern gospel. It is the same gospel proclaimed in the early church. Four-Square is simply a name applied to help describe the four most important aspects of the gospel taught in the New Testament.

Perhaps the simplest scriptural summary possible of the Four-Square Gospel would be the testimony that Jesus saves us according to John 3:16; He baptises us with the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:4; He heals people according to James 5:14, 15; And, Jesus Christ is coming again to receive us to Himself according to 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17.

In addition to the four major tenets of faith, the Four-Square Church is Trinitarian. It proclaims the Bible as true, immutable, steadfast and unchangeable. Four-Square churches practice water baptism by immersion, and the Lord’s Supper (communion) is observed regularly.

Since Jesus and His Word have never changed, His instruction to His church today remains the same. The church has been called and enabled to minister in His Name to bring wholeness through salvation, power to be witnesses through the infilling of the Holy Spirit, healing and wholeness, and hope for the promise of Jesus’ return.

We are a traditional Pentecostal Church with about 70 Members. The Lord has blessed us with many souls saved over the year but we long for a new Revival, with healings and signs and wonders. Our Minister is Pastor Bill McMurdo, who hails from Scotland. He has years of experience in Church ministry and is a gifted Spirit-filled preacher. Our Church is blessed with good music, including traditional hymns and modern choruses and we also feature solo and group singers.
