HISTORY George Jeffreys visited a Canvas Tabernacle in Bournemouth for Evangelistic and Healing Meetings, from July to September 1926; the Drill Hall in Boscombe in October 1926; and for another two or three nights again in Bournemouth in 1933.

The former Boscombe Pentecostal Tabernacle became a huge second-hand and antiquarian bookshop for many years (a favourite haunt of mine). A brick building with polychromatic decoration and frescos inside, it boasted pitch pine galleries on three sides supported by cast-ition pillars, generous vestries, and a wide single-span roof. Its demolition, in 1999, has further impoverished Boscombe's architectural heritage.

The June, 1942, edition of THE PATTERN MAGAZINE reported: after meeting in smaller halls God had answered prayer in a wonderful way and provided a Church building capable of seating 650 and another 160 in the minor hall. In the same article, it was reported that after the preaching of the word souls were being saved and signs and wonders were following. See the full report in the lower part of this website. All the saints at Boscombe praise God for His wonderful blessings and for the way He has opened the way for us, also we thank Him for the ministers that He has sent along to us before we had a Pastor in Charge.
Now we have Pastor W J Jeffereys as Pastor, and we praise God for the great work in Boscombe. We started with a few in a small hall, then a larger one, now that is too small; so we prayed that God would open another way and, praise His wonderful name, the prayer is answered. We did not even have to ask about our new Church, it was put right in our way in answer toprayer. And I believe it is a great victory for the Lord to see at least one Spiritualist Church closing down and reopened by the Bible-Patter.
We also praise God for the way He is moving here. After the preaching of the Word so faithfully proclaimed by our Pastor, souls are being saved and signs and wonders are following, and we believe God is going to fill our new Church which holds 650 people in the Church and 160 in the minor hall.
H. BUSH, Secretary
